My Inspiration
By: Johanna Z

My mom stands behind me in anything and everything I do. From talent shows, auditions, plays, and sports. I can count on her to help and support me. Even when she’s broken she heals others. I love my mom.
Recently I wanted to start dance again. I was going to start in spring, but I got disappointing news. My mom found out that I have to start in fall. My heart fell a thousand miles. My mom saw my disappointment. She said that it was more time to practice my splits.
She always makes me show my work and has more patience than anyone I know. She knows I can do it and expects the best I can do. One night I was getting help for homework when my brother started annoying me. We started nagging at each other as if we were crazy animals fighting over food. My mom was trying to get me to concentrate on homework instead of fighting my brother and my mom said the same thing to him. I expected to be yelled at, but she said in a soft voice.
Helpful. There was a sweet old lady with a disease that made her forget stuff. She lived down the street from us. One night she got lost. When I heard the news it was as if the sun fell out of the sky. My mom and I decided to go help look for her. We spent two hours in the cold looking for her. After awhile we decided to go back and check if she had been found. It turns out she was just at a neighbors house. We were so relieved to that and went home.
Strong. On 2-7-10 my dad had to move away. We were packing up the truck and my mom seemed okay, but I could almost see how much she wanted to cry. I could almost see the tears running down her face. My mom never cries, and I’ve never seen her cry. My parents aren’t divorced; my dad was desperate for a job. In 2008 around Christmas my mom got a huge blemish on her back. But it was no ordinary blemish. The same kind of blemish kills some people. We didn’t know what was going to happen. At least once a week she had to go to the hospital. Lucky for us she lived. To this day she still has a scar were the blemish was.
She’s the person I can trust with anything. Someone that I can cry to. She is my big twin. She will be in my heart forever. My mom is the inspiration for my life.
